If you live in the Jacksonville, FL area, you may already be familiar with the Gingerbread Extravaganza, an impressive, charitable event sponsored by the Rotary Club of South Jacksonville in cooperation with North Jacksonville. Gigantic and creative gingerbread houses built by architects, engineers and home builders along with other local professionals will be on display at the Jacksonville Historical Society.
Read all about this year's event here. The gingerbread contest features homes built by community members, business professionals, civic organizations, church groups, companies and schools. Gingerbread structures are due by Nov. 23. Celebrity judges will select winners in several categories and visitors may vote for the People's Choice award. Attendees can become "home owners" by bidding on their favorite gingerbread creations in the event's silent auction.
To enter, you'll need to complete a building permit form available on the website.
