I don't know about you, but in my kitchen, gingerbread becomes the #1 food group every year on September 1. After that, anything goes. Halloween gingerbread. Gingerbread cookies. And forget seeing the top of the kitchen table, Chuck, 'cause we're eating off our laps until Christmas.
I am downright full of glee this morning because I just now ran across the first gingerbread competition of this year ... at least the first that I've seen. It's the Gingerbread Competition of New York State sponsored by Fortuna Energy Inc. Contest proceeds go to Chemung County Habitat for Humanity
Check out the rules of the contest here. The informational clip below provides more details along with information about the gingerbread stimulus plan connected with this year's competition.

Hi SGuyot -- I know what you mean ... gingerbread is edible fun! It's a nice way to de-stress after a long day in the cubicle and that's a big plus for me.
