Oh yes. Rice Krispy Treats are the versatile building blocks of all sorts of wonderful holiday things. Here, a simple marshmallowy wad becomes a Halloween kitty complete with green jelly bean eyes and candy corn ears. Our buds at Kellogg's have complete instructions right here.
And here's another great kitty below. Adding a sculptural element to your gingerbread house has huge dramatic impact, doesn't it? How did they do it? Heck if I know, but the cat looks a bit like a big chunk of chocolate, doesn't it? Shaped, sculpted and maybe painted with white chocolate perhaps?

(ASPCA). This gingerbread house was a show-stopper at the 2006 New York Gingerbread House Exhibit and Benefit for Animals sponsored by Rational Animal™ and ASPCA. The houses were all made by NYC pastry chefs and auctioned for the benefit of the area's homeless animals. Great idea!
